Doris Theressa Wiggen

Doris Wiggen, age 93, of Portland ND died on May 5, 2014 at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville ND. Doris Evanson was born May 18, 1920 to Theodore and Thea (Johnson) Evanson near Portland ND. She attended school in rural Portland, then entered high school and graduated in 1941 from Portland High School. She married Haftor Wiggen in 1943. Doris worked at Johnson Stores, Luther Memorial Home, and served for 18 years as a foster grandmother in the MSU Headstart program. Doris' interests were crafts and she loved to bake. Her family meant a lot to her. She is survived by her children David Wiggen, Thomas (Virginia) Wiggen, James (Grace) Wiggen and Karen (Randy) Levang and by six grandchildren, James Wiggen, John Wiggen, Peter Wiggen, Virginia Wiggen, Anthony Levang and Martin Levang. She is also survived by several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Edwin Evanson and her sisters, Margaret Otteson and Laila Hagen. Memorials can be sent to Luther Memorial Home or to Red River Valley Hospice. A memorial service will be held in the summer.
