Lawrence Wayne Erickson passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the age of 82 at his home in Page, ND under the care of his family and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Larry was born September 11, 1931 in the village of Warwick, ND to Ernest and Myrtle (Thompson) Erickson. He attended Page High School and served in the US Army. He was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. He married Maxine Lee on August 21, 1964. Before and after serving in the Army, he worked for the Great Northern Railroad, starting in 1951. After 41 years on the railroad, he retired in 1992. Larry loved to hunt and fish with his son, Jeff and his grandson, Blake. He also enjoyed going to “work” at the M&J Bingo Parlor. Larry moved to Kindred in 2001, after Maxine’s passing in 1998, where he lived with his friend Darlene until his return to Page in the fall of 2013.Larry is survived by his daughter: Cindy (Mike Smith) Erickson of St. Paul, MN; son: Jeff (Eileen) Erickson of Page, ND; grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by six siblings: Ole Erickson, Vivian Kent, MaryAnn (Larry) Hammer all of Page, ND, John (Winifred) Erickson of Frenchtown, MT, Karen Knudsvig of Buxton, ND and Joyce Flickenger of Arthur, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Maxine and a brother Wayne. Larry touched many lives with his smile and jokes. He will be missed by many. Visitation: 3-6 PM on Friday, March 21, 2014 with a prayer service at 4:00 PM at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Page and will resume one hour prior to the funeral service.
