Harry Duane Leum, 89, of Cummings, ND, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014 at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. He was born February 25, 1925 to Ingvald and Agnes (Anderson) Leum on a farm near Cummings. He attended country school in Wold Township. Harry served in the US Army stateside and in Germany during WW II. On October 3, 1949 he married Eloise Nelson. After their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in Wold Township, rural Cummings, and raised three children; David, Don and Linda. Harry and Eloise travelled throughout most of the United States. Eloise passed away on December 16, 2006. He became a resident of the Luther Memorial Home in September of 2012. Harry was a two time cancer survivor. He was proud of his military service. Harry was well known for his mechanical ability and many people called on him to repair their machinery. He loved to talk about farming and politics. He is survived by two sons: David and Don Leum both of Cummings, ND; one daughter: Linda (Mike) Nolan of Seattle, WA and his son: Shamus; one sister: Ruth Ulrich of Pioche, NV. Harry is preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers: Jim and Art and twin sister: Harriet. Visitation: Will be 5 – 7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
