Ronald Lawrence Buhr, 74, of Hunter, ND, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by family on July 12, 2008. Ron was born to Erwin and Alpha (Benzmiller) Buhr of Buffalo, ND on June 13, 1934. Ron was in the Army from 1953 to 1955. He married Joanne Fletcher on June 22, 1955. They lived in Fargo until 1963 when they moved to Hunter. Ron always said he never had a job he didn’t like. He farmed, worked at Courtney Elevator, drove Fargo City Bus, road construction, Beverage Wholesalers, truck driver for John Deere of Hunter, Hunter Grain, and Transystems. Ron retired in 1998. His favorite things to do were campground host at Lake Ashtabula, farming with Porters from Grandin and spending time with all of his grandchildren. Ron is survived by his wife, Joanne; daughters, Patty Buhr and Susan Lantz, both of Fargo; sons, Terry of West Fargo and Corrie of Fargo; his mother, Alpha Buhr of Valley City; brother Vernon of Enderlin; sisters, Loretta (Bernard) Bayliss of Grand Forks, Pauline Morgan of Gladstone, MO, Audrey (Duane) Lund of Valley City, and Linda (Ted) Gangelhoff of Fargo; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Erwin, brother Kenny, daughter Mary Ann, and son Steve. Memorial Service: Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hunter. Visitation: Monday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7 PM at the church. Burial: Hunter Cemetery. Arrangements by Baker Funeral Home of Mayville, ND
