Margaret K. Lande

Margaret Kathryn Lande, 92, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2014 at the Luther Memorial Home, Mayville, ND. Margaret was born to Anna and Andrew Lee on November 7, 1921 in Mayville, ND. She attended college at Mayville State University. In January of 1942, Margaret married Orlo Heskin. Margaret and Orlo were blessed with five children. Orlo passed away in July of 1976. In July of 1983, Margaret and Palmer Lande were married. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family until his death in 1999. Margaret worked at the Nursing Home, enjoyed baking lefse and cookies, entertaining, golfing, playing cards and Bingo, and of course cheering on her Minnesota Twins. She was always busy crocheting and knitting; she made beautiful baby blankets for her grand children and great grandchildren. Margaret is survived by her children Robert (Nancy) Heskin, Coon Rapids, MN; Gail (Neil) Halvorson, Portland, ND; Lois Hofstrand, Casselton, ND; Linda Ingebretson, Mayville, ND; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; sisters Alice Strand; Inez (David) Boyer; Clarice Kennedy; Dorothy Grage; brother Abner Lee and brother-in-law Nels (Harriet) Lande. She is preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Anna Lee; sisters Sophia Haakenson, Olivia Nelson, Mildred Strand; brothers Arthur Lee; Harold Lee; Kenneth Lee; husbands Orlo Heskin and Palmer Lande; son Larry Heskin. Visitation: Will be 5 – 7 PM on Monday, January 27, 2014 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Bruflat Lutheran Church in Portland, ND. Burial: Bruflat Cemetery, Portland, ND.
