Margaret Pauline (Vleck) Olson, 89, died Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville under the care of their staff, Hospice of the Red River Valley and her family. Margaret was born September 25, 1924 in Osnabrock, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Theodore and Pauline (Fleishman) Vleck. She attended school in Osnabrock High School and graduated from Mayville State University in 1948. She taught school for a year in Hamilton, ND. She was married to Dennis Olson on September 17, 1949 and was a helpmate on the farm in Osnabrock for nearly 38 years. They moved to Mayville in 1988 and have resided there since, spending many winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. Margaret enjoyed being with family and friends and many times had groups of friends over for coffee and pie or a Bible study. She was an active member of the Gideon auxillary, her church and other civic organizations. Margaret loved to read the Bible and memorized many verses. She shared Jesus with all and is now enjoying being with Him in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Dennis of Mayville, daughters Jean (Jerry) Jones, Connie (Ronald) Sundquist, and Peggy (Lydell) Schultz all of Fargo. Grandchildren Kari (Barney) VerHulst, Grand Rapids, MI, Tami (Eric) Soyring, Detroit Lakes, MN, Keli (Chris) Tetzlaff, Sparta, MO, Aaron (Laura) Sundquist, Fargo, ND, Kinsey(Daniel) Albrecht, Mandan, ND, Ashley Schultz, Minneapolis, MN, Marce’ Schultz, Fargo ND and nine great grand children. Two sisters, Betty Ayers, Cleveland OH, Ida Mae Overmoe, Grand Forks, ND, one brother, Walter Vleck, Mayville, ND, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant brother Johnny, and sister Marion Smith, parents in law, Alvin & Leona Olson, brother in laws, Leonard Overmoe, Marvin Smith and Glenn Ayers, and sister in law, Virginia Vleck and nephew Allen Smith. Margaret‘s main mission in life was sharing with others God’s love and His salvation plan for everyone. She will be missed by all. Visitation: Will be 5 – 7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service on Monday, January 20, 2014 at the Luther Memorial Home Chapel and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND. Burial: Carlson Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
