Charles (Chuck) Tabor of Mayville, ND, died January 2, 2014 at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. Chuck was born March 2, 1929 to Charles and Anna (Johnson) Tabor in Lake Eunice Township near Detroit Lakes Minnesota. He attended a one room school later graduating from Detroit Lakes High School in 1946. Chuck served 3 years in the Air Force being honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant in 1949. From 1950 until 1993 he worked for Crane Johnson Lumber in Fargo, West Fargo, Page and retiring after 32 years in Mayville. Chuck married Mildred Thompson, July 15, 1951 at Augustana Lutheran Church near Lake Eunice. From this union came two sons, Terry and Kevin. Chuck enjoyed playing softball, bowling, golfing, hunting and fishing-particularly his trips fishing to Northern Manitoba and Lake Sakakawea. He was a member of the Mayville Lutheran Church, Mayville Volunteer Fire Department, the VFW Club, the Eagles Club and served on the Mayville Improvement Board. Chuck is survived by his sons Terry (Karry) Tabor of Portland, and Kevin (Angela) Tabor of Fargo, his grandchildren Amy Tabor of Fargo, Erin (BJ) DeBoer of Sioux Falls, SD and Charlie Tabor of Fargo, and his great grandchildren Artie and Cassie Hogness of Fargo. He is also survived by two brothers Allen (Peggy) Tabor of Devils Lake and John (PearlAnn) Tabor of Denver Co. and a sister Mary (Bob) Lee of Detroit Lakes. He was preceded in death by his wife Mildred on December 30, 1991. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Gytri and Ann Richter and two brothers in law Lloyd Gytri and Jim Richter, and his daughter in law Lynn Tabor. The family would like to thank Red River Valley Hospice and the staff at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville for the wonderful care he received. The family requests that memorials be given to the Mayville Lutheran Elevator or Bathroom fund. Visitation: Will be 5–7 PM with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church.
