Avis L. Rosevold

Avis Rosevold, 94, of Grand Forks, ND, died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Wheatland Terrace, Valley Memorial Homes, Grand Forks. Avis was born on November 30, 1913, in Atwater, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, the daughter of Jonathan Raymond (Ray) and Iva Jane (Lipsit) Linnell. She moved to Aneta when she was 8, and graduated from Aneta High School. Avis then moved to Mayville where she worked as a telephone operator. On December 26, 1940 she married Sidney Rosevold in Crookston, MN. Together they farmed near Mayville until retiring in 1975 when they moved into town. Sidney died in 1992, and Avis moved to Grand Forks in 1998. Avis enjoyed reading, working on puzzles, and spending time with her family. She is survived by six children, Sandra Rosevold of Grand Forks, S. John (Shirley) Rosevold of Mayville, Gary (Maggie) Rosevold of Grapevine, TX, JoHanna (Robert) Dunlop of Rolla, ND, Dennis (Doreen) Rosevold of Mayville, and Andrea (Tom) Hanson of Grand Forks; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Bertha Linnell of Aneta, and Fern Linnell of Utah. Avis was preceded in death by her husband Sidney, and three brothers, John, Rollie, and Mason Linnell. Funeral: 2:00 PM, Friday, May 23, 2008, at Mayville Lutheran Church, Mayville, ND. Visitation: Thursday, May 22, 2008, from 5-7 PM at Baker Funeral Home, Mayville, ND, and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial: Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
