Lucille Burley, 94, of Arthur, ND, died Friday, February 29, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center in Arthur, ND. Lucille Andre was born January 15, 1914 in Olin, Iowa, to Raymond R. and Nellie (Porter) Andre. She entered school at Willison’s Bunk House at the age of 6. She graduated from Greenfield Consolidated School in 1928, and continued on to Bohnsack Consolidated School, graduating in 1932. She married Chester Burley on October 22, 1935 and lived on a farm ½ mile west of Blanchard, ND. Lucille was very actively involved in the operations of the farm. She and Chester retired in 1978. From 1979 to 2003 Lucille wintered for 6 months in Arizona. She later moved to Casselton, and most recently to the Good Samaritan Home in Arthur. Lucille was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Blanchard and later in Hunter, ND. She was a 4-H leader in Traill County for over 10 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and ceramics. She loved to make afghans for all of her grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Alice (Edward) Morrison of Hunter; two sons, Harold (Nancy) Burley of Casselton, and Harvey (Marilyn) Burley of Mayville; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Chester, her parents and brother, Ethbert L. Andre. Service: 2 pm Wednesday, March 5, 2008, at First Presbyterian Church, Hunter Visitation: Will be from 5 – 7 pm with a 6:30pm public prayer service at First Presbyterian Church in Hunter, and will resume one hour prior to the service Burial: Hunter Cemetery, Hunter
