Helen G. Sandvig, 83, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Mayville, ND passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Edgewood Vista in Fargo, ND. Helen Grace Vernon was born June 21, 1929, in Edgeley, ND to Harry and Norma (French) Vernon. She graduated from high school in 1947. Helen moved to Fargo where she met her husband, Harland E. Sandvig. They were married on November 4, 1952, in Edgeley and moved to Mayville the same year. Together they operated Hanson Transfer, a truck line business, until retiring in 1970. Helen also enjoyed working several years at the Mayville Clinic. They spent many winters in Mesa, AZ. Helen was active in her church, VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the Mayville golf course women’s club. She dearly loved her family, spending time with her kids and grandchildren, playing cards, puzzles, reading and traveling with Harland. Harland passed away September 4, 1992. In November 2007, she moved to Fargo, ND to be closer to her children. She will be remembered and deeply missed by her children, Kim (Neil) Berseth of Colfax, ND, Greg (Sherri) Sandvig of Fargo, ND, and John (Darcy) Sandvig of Orange, CA; her grandchildren, Mark (Kendra) Berseth, Thomas Berseth, Lindsey (Chris) Gust, Daniel (Katie) Sandvig, Brooke Sandvig and Riley Sandvig; her brothers, Irvin, Harry (Delores) and Robert (Joan) Vernon, Rose Mary Vernon and Harry Drenth. Helen was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Lee, Ronald, Warren and Harold; and sister Harriette. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:30 AM Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Mayville Church in Mayville. Burial: Mayville Cemetery, Mayville.
