Myron Duane Ulland

Myron Ulland, 88, of Mayville, ND died Monday, August 13, 2012 at Sanford Hospital in Mayville, ND. Myron Duane Ulland was born February 2, 1924 to Peter and Inez (Steen) Ulland. He attended Mayville School #3 and graduated from Mayville High School in 1942. He enrolled in the School of Agriculture at NDSU for a short time. In 1944, Myron enlisted in the Navy and served in the Philippine Islands in the Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1946. On June 4, 1947 Myron and Harriet Kaldor were united in marriage at the Aal Lutheran Church, rural Hillsboro, ND. He worked at Nodak Rural Electric for 8 years and then he started farming East of Mayville. The couple lived on the farm for 30 years, and then moved into Mayville in 1984. They became a resident of Sun Center in October of 2004. Farming was Myron’s life and he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was Clerk of Mayville School #3, a member of Mayville School Board, served on the board at the Farmers Co-op Elevator, active member of the VFW #4421 and attended Mayville Lutheran Church. He is preceded in death by his parents: Peter and Inez Ulland; brother: Paul and grandson: Cody Ulland. Myron is survived by his wife of 65 years: Harriet of Mayville; daughters: Marilyn (Ron) Brown of Strongsville, OH and Debbie (Neil) Tollefsrud of Shakopee, MN; son: Steve of Mayville; 6 grandchildren: Brian (Teresa) Nagel, Tami (Mike) Pelcer, Angela (Aaron) Stevens, Jim (Keira) Tollefsrud, Nancy (Jay) Schroeder, Casey Ulland and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation: Will be on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 5 ~ 7 PM at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel with a 6:30 PM Public Prayer Service and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:30 AM Friday, August 17, 2012 at Mayville Lutheran Church in Mayville, ND. Burial: Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
