Brenda M. Enger

Brenda M. Enger, 70, of Portland, ND died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND. Brenda was born on December 17, 1941 to Bjarne and Mabel (Krogstad) Hegstad. She graduated from high school at Mayville, ND and completed her RN degree from St. Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in Fargo. She married Dale Enger on March 2, 1962. They farmed and lived near Mayville until retiring. In 2008 they moved to Portland, ND. She was a nurse for many years working at the Mayville Clinic, Union Hospital and over 30 years at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville. She enjoyed being a Sunday school accompanist at Aurdal Lutheran Church for many years. Her favorite activities were sewing/quilting, reading, playing piano, spending time with her Circle friends, and Church. Brenda loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Dale Enger; two sons: Dean (Michelle) Enger of Elk River, MN, Paul (Bonnie) Enger of Portland, ND; and two daughters: Kelly (Bryan) Aalund of Hazen, ND and Julie (Paul) Winger of Portland, ND; 9 grandchildren: Stephanie Aalund, Rachel (Jesse) Griggs, Derek Enger, Nicole Enger, Tanner Enger, Hamilton Enger, Zachery Enger, Dwight Winger, Darrin Winger and one great granddaughter Allie Aalund. Siblings: Joseph (Jackie) Hegstad, Carol Domier and Ardis (Don) Zimney. She was preceded in death by her parents Bjarne & Mabel Hegstad; brother-in-law Wayne Domier. Visitation: Will be on Thursday, July 19, 2012 from 5 ~ 7 PM with a 7 PM Public Prayer Service at the Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Aurdal Lutheran Church in Portland, ND. Burial: Aurdal Cemetery, Portland, ND.
