Blondie Anderson, 91, of Mayville, ND died Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at Luther Memorial Home, Mayville, ND. Blondie was born August 25, 1915, in Golden Lake Township near Hatton, ND, the daughter of Iver and Caroline (Holm) Vigen. She attended school near Golden Lake. On September 3, 1938 she married Mikkel (Mike) Anderson in Hatton. They farmed in rural Buxton and Mayville until retiring and moved to Buxton in the fall of 1984. Mike died March 9, 1991. In the fall of 1997 Blondie moved to an apartment in Mayville; then in September 1999 she moved to the Pine Haven Apartments at the Tri-County Nursing Home in Hatton, ND. She entered the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, March 2006. She was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Buxton, ND, and involved in the Ladies Aid, Altar Guild, and the Buxton Senior Center. Blondie enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook for her many family gatherings, making lefse and meatballs. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and painting, and also enjoyed spending time at Red Willow and Golden Lake. She is survived by her son Keith (Ann) Anderson, Mayville, ND; daughter Myrna (David) Tucker, East Grand Forks, MN; seven grandchildren, Greta (Fiancé Perry Paschke) Kyllo, Paul (Linda) Anderson, Merry (Doug) Gleason, Jennifer (Bruce) Otteson, Renae (Randy) Hillestad, Robyn (Gary) Rupp, and Nancy (Aric) Tucker-DeYoung; fourteen great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; four step great-great-grandchildren; sisters Lenora Amundson, Irene Hanson, and sister-in-law Eleanore Vigen, all of Hatton, ND. She is preceded in death by her husband Mike; her parents; four sisters, Bernice Johnson, Thelma Haroldson, her twin sister Frida Brainerd, and infant sister Solvig; nine brothers, Oscar, Harry, Ernest, Ervin, Clarence, Ilan, Kermit, Ansgard, and Wallace; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church, or donor’s choice. FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 20, 2007 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Buxton, ND. VISITATION: Sunday, August 19, 2007 from 5-7pm with a prayer service at 6:30pm at Baker Funeral Home, Mayville, ND; and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. BURIAL: Immanuel Cemetery, rural Buxton, ND.
