Marion F. Latendresse

Marion Francis Latendresse passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2011 at Luther Memorial Home in Mayville, N.D., where she resided for several years. Marion was born to Francis and Marie (Peterson) Cooper at Bingham Township, Traill County, North Dakota on December 13, 1916. She graduated from high school in Climax, Minnesota and attended beauty school in Fargo, North Dakota. She enjoyed a career working in beauty shops in North Dakota, Minnesota, and Alaska. She was married to Alfred (Al) Latendresse on December 28, 1957 in Fargo. Marion and Al lived for many years in Fairbanks, Alaska. After they retired, they spent their winters in Mesa, Arizona, and summers at Big Cormorant and Star Lake in Minnesota. She took great pleasure in fishing on the lakes with Al. Wherever they lived, Al & Marion established a circle of friends with whom they maintained close contact through the years. Al passed away on December 27, 1996 in Mayville, North Dakota, where they lived in later years. Marion had many hobbies, including china painting, and shared her talents with family and friends. Marion was the last member of her immediate family to pass away. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Vernola Evenson and Ruby Christianson, and brothers Clifton, Jay, Donald, and Vance. She is survived by nieces, nephews and friends from the Luther Memorial Home, who cared for her in her final years. Funeral Service: 10:00 AM Monday, 10/17/2011, at Luther Memorial Home Chapel, Mayville, ND. Visitation: Will be one hour prior to the service at the Chapel Burial: Bruflat Lutheran Church Cemetery, Portland, ND.
