Florence Lavine Graham

Florence Lavine Graham, 93, of Page, ND, died after a brief illness Saturday, April 28, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Center, Sioux Falls, SD. Florence was born on September 19, 1913, in York, ND, the daughter of Elmer and Myrtle Britsch. She grew up and attended school in York. On September 19, 1935 she married Leroy L. Graham. Together they had five children. Florence worked as a cook in the Page School for 10 years, and also at Miller Brothers Farms for 10 years. She was a homemaker for 70 years. Leroy died in July 1968. Florence was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She was known for her ability to feed anyone any time. She was an excellent cook and baker, and was especially known for all the different kinds of candy she made at Christmas time. She kept her mind sharp by doing crossword puzzles and wore out many dictionaries. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Page, ND for 46 years and was active in WELCA, quilting, and was church librarian for many years. Florence loved Jesus, her town of Page and all of her friends who, through their love and help, enabled her to live independently in her house in Page until November 2006. She was a special, gracious lady who was loved by family and friends. She is survived by one daughter, MarDee (Gerald) Dahlin, Brandon, SD; four sons, Dennis L. (Linda) Milpitas, CA; Kenneth L. (Geri) Camarillo, CA; Bryce L. (Francie) Oxnard, CA; and Jayce L., Rock Springs, WY; sister, Joyce (Chuck) Jackson, Pearce, AZ; grandchildren, Dennis (Delores) Graham, Mike (Mary) Graham, Glori Graham, Larry (Pam) Graham, Melanie (Jerry) Gillespie, Sheri (Tony) Perkins, Tammy (Denver) Kvistad, Tracy (Rjay) Brunkow, Shanna (Justin) Howe, Alex (Melany) Graham, Keith (Janelle) Graham, Brandee (Chris) Ramirez, Jayce Jr. Graham, Kaydee Graham, and Candice Graham; and 17 great-grandchildren. Florence is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 sisters, Lucille Allen, Janet Yeager, and Goldie Tierney, and 4 brothers Elmer, Lemuel, Lorenz, and Kenneth Britsch. In leiu of flowers, memorials to Gideons International or Our Savior Lutheran Church, Page, ND Visitation: 6 to 8 pm Thursday at the Lindsey-Carlson Funeral Home in Page, with a prayer service at 7pm, and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church Service: 11 am, Friday May 5, 2007 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Page Burial: Page Cemetery, Page, ND Arrangements: Lindsey-Carlson Funeral Home in Page, ND.
