Norma Margaret Hettervig

Norma Margaret Hettervig, 79, of Buxton, ND, died Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Sanford Hospital in Mayville, ND. Norma was born November 19, 1931 to William and Louise (Griese) Lenz, rural Reynolds, ND. She grew up in rural Reynolds and graduated high school in Hatton, ND. After graduating she worked for a few years in Mayville. On July 15, 1953 she married Orlin Hettervig at Holmes United Methodist Church, rural Reynolds. The couple made their home in the Buxton area. Norma was a farmer’s wife, taking care of their children and home. In 1963 the couple moved to Orlin's parent's farm in rural Buxton, where Norma was currently residing. Norma enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Norma is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Hettervig of Buxton; son, Marlin (Kim) Hettervig of Fargo, ND; four grandchildren, Kristin and Michael Hettervig of Fargo and Ashley and Dustin Hettervig of Grand Forks, ND; two sisters-in-law, Elaine Kuster of Reynolds and Eloise (Del) Soderberg of Grand Forks. She was preceded in death by her son, David in August, 2009; husband Orlin in March 1998; brother, Merle Lenz; sister Fern Kalal; and her parents. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM, Monday, January 10, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Buxton, ND. Visitation: 3-5 PM, with a prayer service at 5:00 PM Sunday, January 9, 2011 and one hour prior to the funeral service, all at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Buxton. Interment: Immanuel Cemetery East.
