Dianne M. Odden, 64, of West Fargo, ND, formerly of Portland, ND, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND, surrounded by her family. Dianne was born May 1, 1946 in Mayville, ND, the daughter of John T. and Jean Olson. She grew up and attended school in Portland, ND. Dianne attended NDSU and married David C. Odden July 16, 1966 in Portland. She was a stay at home mom for 7 kids and recently worked at NDSU. Dianne was a proud daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Dianne was the most generous person you could ever meet. The joys of her life were her grandchildren. She believed to enjoy life you need to laugh a lot. Dianne lived by the motto Live, Laugh, Love. She also loved to shop, collect antiques, travel, attend craft shows, playing cards with the "ladies" and going out to eat with family and friends. Dianne truly was the most selfless person you could ever meet. She always thought about others before herself. Even after she had the heart attack, she was writing a list of gifts to give to people for Christmas. Dianne was the most amazing person you could ever meet. She saw the good in everyone and wanted everybody to get along...hence the motto, Live, Laugh, Love. Dianne is survived by her husband, David Odden of West Fargo; seven children, Kim (Tom) Potter of West Fargo, Kirk (Lisa) Odden of West Fargo, Kevin (Mino) Odden of Fargo, Angela (Chad) Brendefur of Barnesville, MN, Scott Odden of Barnesville, MN; Stacey (Darin) Dunham of Maple Grove, MN and Shawn Odden of West Fargo; and six grandchildren. She is also survived by her father, John T. Olson of Portland and one brother, Jerome Olson of Portland, ND. She is preceded in death by her mother last month, Jean Olson and brothers Larry John and Dana Jon. Visitation: Sunday, January 2, from 4:00 -6:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:00 pm at Baker Funeral Home of Mayville, ND and will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Funeral Service: Monday, January 3, at 10:30 am at Aurdal Lutheran Church, Portland, ND. Interment: Aurdal Lutheran Church Cemetery, Portland, ND.
